Privacy Policy

Overview

ScreenSense is a desktop application that uses AI to analyze your screen and suggest helpful actions. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Screenshots and Screen Data

When you press the hotkey, ScreenSense captures a screenshot of your active window and sends it to our server for AI analysis. Screenshots are processed in real-time and are NOT stored on our servers. They are deleted immediately after the AI generates its response. We do not build profiles, train models, or retain any visual data from your screen.

AI Processing

Screenshots are analyzed using the Anthropic Claude API. Anthropic does not use API inputs for model training per their data policy. The AI response is streamed back to your device and the screenshot is discarded.

Video Summaries

When you ask ScreenSense to summarize a YouTube video, we fetch the video’s public captions from YouTube on your behalf. The captions are processed in memory, sent to Claude for summarization, and immediately discarded — we never store them. No personal account data is sent to YouTube; only the video’s public URL.

Account Data

We collect your email address for account creation and authentication. We store usage metrics (number of actions per day) to enforce tier limits. We do not collect your name, location, or any other personal information.

Payment Information

All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. We never see or store your credit card number, billing address, or other financial details. Lemon Squeezy handles all tax calculation, invoicing, and compliance.

Analytics

We use PostHog for anonymized usage analytics to understand how the product is used and improve it. No screenshots or AI responses are included in analytics data.

Data Retention

• Screenshots: deleted immediately after processing.
• Usage logs: retained for 90 days.
• Account data: retained until you delete your account.
• AI response history: retained for 30 days for Pro users, then deleted.

Your Rights

You can request account deletion at any time by emailing support@screensense.co. Upon deletion, all your data including usage history and license information will be permanently removed within 30 days. You can request a data export of your account information.

Security

All data in transit is encrypted via TLS/HTTPS. Our servers are hosted on DigitalOcean with standard security practices. Access to production systems is restricted to the development team.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email.
